Once part of the main line to Weymouth, the railway through Ringwood was a rural backwater for most of its life. The route south from Salisbury was a typical quiet country single line. Both had great charm, were steam worked to the end and are lovingly described and lavishly illustrated in this volume, as is the line from Hamworthy.
