Remote from the main system, the lines around Sheerness have had a unique and unusual history and continue to offer operating variety. These features are fully illustrated, along with the former lines to Queenborough Pier and Sheerness Dockyard, together with Bowater’s narrow gauge lines, the steam operated Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway and the long-forgotten Sheppey Light Railway to Leysdown.
