Branch Line to Fairford
by Vic Mitchell, Keith Smith & Richard Lingard
Starting as a local branch to Witney and being extended as part of a proposed main line, the line settled down to serving the community in the quiet and efficient way that so many rural GWR routes did for several generations. The route developed a particular importance in World War II, but was always important to local agriculture and industry.
