Branch Lines around Spalding
M&GN Saxby to Long Sutton
by Michael Back
The author lived and worked on the route and thus gives us an insight into the operation of the line and dwells on the fascinating architectural details. Much of the traffic was local produce, but there was one regular long distance express, which also receives detailed attention.
Reviews:
'No-one has actually asked me to choose my 'Book of the Year', but if they did, this would be an obvious choice!'
(David Brown, British Railway Modelling, December 2009)
'Quite apart from being of great interest to local people, this volume enables general rail enthusiasts to wallow in nostalgia.'
(The Railway Magazine, September 2009)
'For those interested in the M&GN or in local history, this is a must.'
(Heritage Railway, September 2009)
