Country Railway Routes
Northampton to Peterborough
including the Seaton Route
by Vic Mitchell & Keith Smith
For five years, this was the main line between London and Peterborough, but it then became a rural route and closed early.
Thus it had much charm and aged trains. Both are seen in the varied historic photographs herein, along with the assorted stock of the present Nene Valley Railway.
'The territory covered lies in what was a sparsely populated area, and the atmosphere of rural cross-country railways is captured admirably; indeed some views may well induce a rush of nostalgia among those who knew them at first hand.'
