The complex group of rural lines in this volume largely lost its passenger service in the early 1930s. Thus there is a diverse range of unfamiliar views. However, freight continued over the majority of the system into the 1960s, giving a further variety of images to enjoy.

Reviews:

'[This album] gives a lot of detail and captures the essence of the network that served a once busy industrial area and is recommended to anyone with a local interest in the area's railways and industry.'
(Main Line [The Magazine for the Friends of the Great Central Main Line], Issue 173, Winter 2017)

'Of heritage interest here is the section of the Ashby & Nuneaton Joint Committee line which in 1978 was revived as the Battlefield Steam Railway, and which later became the Battlefield Line.... Essential local history.'
(Heritage Railway, Issue 234, October-November 2017)

'For modellers of the area, this book will be invaluable, and as always, if you've an interest in the area covered, it's well worth a look.'
(Steam World, Issue 364, October 2017)
